We were delighted to be asked to design, supply, install, and surface a large new play area at the La Marais housing development in Jersey, on behalf of a local housing provider on the Island.

With its coastal location, a large ship multiplay was requested, and the Bobalino ship from Spiel Bau was a perfect fit. Comprised of stainless steel uprights and hardwood robinia wooden panelling, the build materials were well suited to provide longevity and protection to the harsh local environment.

The ship features a fantastic amount of play combinations and challenges, with large net structures, slides, climbing walls, rope play, balance bridges and fireman’s poles combining to give hours of endless fun. The masts rise to over 8 metres tall, and the upper decks make a fantastic look out point to survey the surrounding areas.

In addition to the centrepiece, new swings, two springers, play panels, and a large slide were incorporated into the design, ensuring a great day out for children of all ages.

The surfacing was completed in a black with blue fleck wet pour rubber surface, adding to the maritime theming of the area.

We loved working on this project, helping create a destination play space for the island that will entertain local kids for years to come. A big thanks to our customer, and our installation and surfacing teams for getting this finished and open for the summer holidays.
