New Forest Water Park - Wet Pour Rubber
The New Forest Water Park is a beautiful and extremely busy and popular attraction, located between Ringwood and Fordingbridge in Hampshire. People come from all over the country to use its water-based leisure facilities.
We were contacted by the management to help solve a problem they had with their wakeboard landing area. The existing surface was concrete, but users, often bare – footed, found this to be uncomfortable to walk on, especially as their feet could often be cold after being in the water for a while! They asked us to install a wet pour surface over the concrete to improve the area.
In conjunction with the Park we needed to work out how best to confirm the health and safety of our workforce, and they would be working directly adjacent to deep water. Once we had agreed on this we set to work on the 229m2 project.
We laid a black wet pour rubberised surface. This has excellent non-slip properties, and also displays a degree of resilience, meaning that it is slightly soft underfoot – much more comfortable than the original concrete.
We then went on to inlay the Park’s wakeboarding logo – a highly skillful job that takes time and patience. Have a look at the time lapse video to see the logo being installed.
